Thank you! I am sure I will get a good one.

Nice to see optimism, but don't be so certain you won't end up with a dud :) It seems to happen with alarming frequency here :) My first only had 300 or so shots, but it was rather nasty.

I really have to stay away from this place. Put me on the list of getting a 5D mkii for a broken SD600 :)

Guess this will force me to sell my 5D classic. Hmmm wonder what else I'm not using and can sell lol

Was holding out for the 5D mkIII, but couldn't pass up at 5D mkII for $1711.14!

Mine will arrive Wednesday to be paired with my 7D!

I'll still upgrade when 5D mkIII comes out in Spring of 2011...

I figured that even selling used then, I should recoup most of what I paid!

And the resale value should still be at least what you paid!

Also.. I read about a ton of good Mkii's from CLP. not sure why someone would state otherwise!

IIRC, didn't 5Dc cost about $1300 when 5D2 came out?

Ohhh, pretty sure it was quite a bit higher--that was 2 years ago. Heck, the 5dc is still going for about $1100 on ebay.

How do people know the 5DIII will be out in Spring 2011 or is it just speculation.

It's all speculation as usual.

Is it wise for an amateur photographer to go from a t1i to a full frame such as the 5D2 or a professional level camera like the 1D series?
I'm thinking about upgrading soon and I'm unsure what to do.. Get a used 1D2 (or 3 or 2n) or refurb 7D, or refurb 5D2

All of those bodies have specific strengths. The t1i excels at nothing. So it all boils down to what your interests are.

Both the 5d2 and 1d/1ds lines are considered "professional level" bodies. You shouldn't just say "oh, I'll get a 1d because it originally retailed for more than the 5d2". If all you're interested in is BIF or action photography, it wouldn't make sense to get a FF body--you'd either want a 7d or 1d series.

Unless you need a faster frame rate for sports or fast action shots then you don't need the 7D or a body that does 10 fps. Decide which types of pics you like to shoot most, which body features you'd like to have available, and then take it from there for as far as you feel your wallet can comfortably handle.

Btw, there's nothing wrong with the T1i. It doesn't has as many features as the higher end models but you can still capture great pics with it. Just don't take it out in the rain or drop it a bunch of times.
