Help deciding Epson Stylus Pro 3880 or 4900

I'm considering the purchase of an Epson 3880 or 4900 and have done extensive research, but can't find anything which gives an approximate cost of ownership or cost per page for say; 8x10 prints.

Does anyone have an idea the cost per page for these printers? I know, a lot of this is associated with the type of prints, paper, how much color etc... I just want an idea of what it's costing those of you who use these units.

On average, I will be printing 30 8x10, 60 5x6, and prints larger than 8x10

My clients are also interested in Christmas cards and I'm wondering if these machines will prints such cards?

I like the idea of printing myself to control quality and keep cost lower than having a professional print shop do my printing.

Not really pertaining to the original question, but keep in mind that the 3880 can only use sheet paper and the smallest size it will take is 4x6, where as the 4900 can use both sheet paper and rolls, but the smallest size sheet it will take is 8x10.

In otherwords, if you're going to print smaller than 8x10, then you'll be cutting paper with the 4900. That may or may not be an issue for you.

On a side note, Epson has a $300 rebate on the 3880 this month. I just ordered one, after rebate the cost will be ~$820.

Yes sir, I agree, the need to make lower prints helped me make the decision as well. I spoke to the owner of a print shot as well and he said their 3880 hasn't clogged in 3 years of use whereas their 4900 has clogged constantly.
