Good to catch up again Sam, all be it a quick hi and by. Going through my shots now. Just finished on Aaron's - he had the 40D. He did very well for his first outing with a SLR.

Looks nasty on the BOM Radar.

We missed out last night, not that I'm complaining mind you. The ground needs a few days to dry out, it squishes under my feet at the moment.

We caught the edge of it last night, nothing too heavy just constant for a few hours.

*sigh*

The grass really will need mowing again once the rain decides to stay away for a few days.

Hey guys!

Been a long time since I've been in here - Uni this year has been pretty seriously full on, and throw work into the mix and I've been flat out.

Anyway, I have a shoot on Monday for Queensland Water Infrastructure, and I was wondering if there would be any chance someone may have a 70-200 or even 100-400 they'd be willing to lend for a day. From the brief it's sounding like I may need something a little longer than the 5D+135L combo... Anyone who could help out would be my saviour.

Hey - back to a bit of activity here! Like a few, I've not had much camera action for several months.

We are heading OS agan next year and I am thinking of reducing the number of lenses compared to what I took last time (I think I took 6!)

Anyone any thoughts on 28-300 or, better still, ever used one? I will probably hire one for a weekend first, but this would resolve a lot of the weight issue of several lenses. The other option is the siggy 50-500 although I know that'd be a compromise.

I'd also take the 1.4 and 2x TCs to extend whichever I get.

Thoughts? Ta (in advance)

@Andrew, nice looking shots both of them.

@David. Never used either of those so can't comment. Will you need something that long? Can you look at your last OS shots and work out what focal length suited best?

Well I guess it's more to cover various lenses. Last time I favoured 24-105 and 70-200 for a large number of the shots, although the 10-22, fiddy and 100 macro had a run too. I had also used the TCs for some, mainly on the 70-200.

I figured if I have something like the 10-22, a 28-300 and couple of TCs, life would be much "lighter" and I could cover all bases.

Though it a good time to resurrect the Brissie Coffee club.

Hi, good idea. Would like to keep in touch with some local photographers. I'm from Brisbane west-side.
