I got the same thing when I went to order 2-3 months ago. I had 3 different reps tell me the 5D2 was pulled from the program. But 2 weeks later, I saw a post here that the OP said they ordered one. I called them that afternoon and ordered mine as well.

I would give it a few days and call back. It will hopefully come back in.

Hopefully Canon will re-offer the 5D2 as part of the CLP. I've had my eye on it for a few weeks, and I'm about to sell some gear in order to buy one. It would be a major bummer if it's off the program permanently.

+1

it's been on and off the program more than once. I'd bet it'll only be permanently off once the 5Diii comes out, and even then it's not a guarantee. :lol:

I was told 5d mkii was pulled off from the program on Monday...that is from 3 different reps. I then asked, like many of you, would it be back on anytime soon, and was told, maybe/maybe not. They don't know. I guess I will just have to keep my eyes open.

Isn't the 40d still on the refurb list? I doubt they'd immediately remove the 5d2 just because the 5d3 came out...

Well, I don't think there was an upgrade to the 40D like a 40D II version. They no longer sell the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM on the website because they offer a version 2 of it.

50D? 60D? You realize that these cameras were the successors to the 40D, right? And you can't say that the original 70-200 isn't offered because of the MkII version of it. That's completely circumstantial.

But it's a whole different system. If there was a 40D2, i'm 100% sure canon would not be selling the 40D as well as the 40D2. I understand when you say it's the successor of the 40D, but it's not an upgraded version of the 40D. The 50D and 60D are different cameras. You don't see canon selling their 5D still. [proof (external link) i hope the link works, if not, go to shop.canon.usa.com and search 5D]

The 50D and 60D are different cameras.

:shock: What? Dude, you have no idea what you're talking about. 60D I can kinda give you that, but not the 50D. Please do some research.

5D Mark I is like 5 years old and production has been stopped so that's not even refurbs for those, although I'm not entirely sure why you even bring that up.

I was thinking about it this way (but i guess i'm wrong):
[Technically 550D] --> 500D --> 450D --> 400D --> 350D --> 300D
60D --> 50D --> 40D --> 30D --> 20D

Again, I was responding to this:

that's pretty correct (except 60D, but that's a debate topic). so why you said those are not upgrades?
