What is your suggestion for the best place to purchase a new or refurb 1D MKIV?

B&H, Adorama, or Amazon. They're all at $4756. Refurbs are $4199 at both Adorama and B&H.

I don't think you can beat these prices, unless you go grey market. Compare here: http://www.canonpricewatch.com …EOS-1D-Mark-IV-price.html (external link)

Also, new 1D mk IV makes you eligible for double Canon rebate. Find some people who want to buy lenses? :)

Generally, Adorama seems to have the most inventory of factory refurbished Canons.
I'd check regularly there.

Adorama usually has a 1 year warranty with their refurbs.

the warranty is awesome. I bought a refurb 40D last year. it worked fine, and then the control dial started to act up, and I was alreay 9 months into my 1 year warranty. I called them up, shipped it back. if they have a replacement in stock, they will replace it. if not, they will refund your original purchase price as a store credit.

Helen Oster on this forum is with Adorama and whenever you have a problem, contact her and she gets everything squared away. she's awesome :-)
