No mine shows it fine. Some people choose to remove theirs though.

It's a choice.

The plugin that I use allows me to choose how much exif data I push when I upload pictures. Some people allow all of it while some others have it all stripped out before they upload.

believe "save for web" strips exif, whereas "save" or "save as" keeps it intact.

Which version of Photoshop are you using? Older versions stripped the exif if you used Save for Web, no questions asked. Newer versions give you an option. If you don't see the option to save/lose the exif, then use Save As and you should be able to see it. To be sure, you can use your file browser to check the image properties after saving the jpeg.

Check your Privacy & Permissions in Flickr...there is an option in there to change on whether you want to import your EXIF data or not. I had the same issue where Flickr wasn't showing the EXIF data, but every time I looked on my PC, it was there. I just found this option and changed it for my future uploads.

This may or may not be your problem, but if you resize your images for uploading to Flickr like I do, use the Image Size function under Image --> Image Size in Photoshop. This will preserve all EXIF data that is part of the file in the scaled version of your photo. I don't know if you do resize your images prior to uploading, though, so this may be of no use to you. :-P

Why do people choose to strip Exif data? When on Flickr I like to see the Exif to get a good idea how the image was created. Nice at determining which focal lengths are used for various genres and compositions and other useful info such as exposure. I always feel let down when I try to view Exif and it's stripped, or not offered at all. Must be a good reason for why people do this.

Some people might be doing it on accident similar to the way I was for the past four or five months that I have been using Photoshop to edit my photos. I did not know how exactly I should resize my images to upload them to things like Flickr or to quickly e-mail them so I used the Transform tool. In the process I was removing the EXIF data without even realizing it.

Thanks again for all the replies. I found that I had the box ticked in Flickr so that it was stripping the exif data as someone mentioned above. It was buried away in the privacy and permissions section.

Cheers,
Bear Dale
