This is really ignorant. Maybe you can afford it...

Why did you buy a 2nd hand 7D on the forums instead of buying a brand new one from a store? If you could afford $1400 here you could certainly afford it from B+H?

To some people the extra $300 makes the difference.

I am surprised by so many people being mad, agitated etc etc.

I think the focus is the "mad, agitated" part not the price difference part.

People get unnecessarily upset about shops not honoring price mistakes, like on SD they regularly talk about boycott, BBB, class action lawsuits, etc., it's usually quite an amusement to see.

Well I agree it messed up for Canon to do what they did. Mistake happen but you would think a company with as much money and resources as Canon would prevent that kind of mistake from happening, like best buy with the 7D a couple months ago.

On the defense side, Best Buy and Canon both have disclaimers and in their ToS "We reserve the right to cancel any order due to a pricing/listing mistake"

So there is nothing that can be done on the consumers side

Well, go on SD, for example, price mistakes like are weekly occurrences at all kind of places, big and small retailers.

You would rather want those to happen, seriously. Once in a while you get lucky and get those deals of the century.

I am not saying that $300 don't make a difference, of course they do. I am just questioning whether $300 is that much less for a $2k lens especially if you take into account that there was a problem with it to begin with and also it comes with a shorter warranty. The cost of fixing an issue that might show up between 3-12 months might not be worth it to some.

My 7d comes with a full year warranty and at a lower price thanks to the seller passing part of the rebate discount to me.

It's funny how they still use the mk2 picture.

Leave the Lord's name out of this before you insult someone in this forum.

Try to be less foolish in your response.

Ummm....actually Jesus is a common name in South America and places beyond ;)

Check there from time to time plus the refurb section of Adorama and B&H.

Adorama has them for 999. Brand new they are 1,130. I think id rather pay 130 more and get something brand new with warranty.

Many of the refurbs we sell have never even left the factory prior to being refurbished - plus, they all come with a 12-month warranty.
