But, I used my 580ex (bare) fired by a cactus trigger fired about 7 ft up on a light stand just left of me. Don't remember the settings on the flash because I was rushed for the shot. The cold blowing wind really helped me here so I can't take all the credit. ;)

Not a problem. Wanna learn how to use lights? Go to these threads and waste your life in them. That's what I did, been using off camera flash just less than a year.

Heres some from bonfire night, didnt have my tripod so couldnt do more than afew seconds of exposure :(
