Held at the Greek theater on a very hilly cross course. I've had an assfull of prep sports so it was nice to get back to some cycling.

1. Light was all over the place but mostly hidden throughout the day but caught a glimpse.

Awesome shots. I love what you did with those slower shutter speed panning shots.

+1. I'm not sure how you combined the flash with the slow SS panning (2nd curtain?) but you've got it working. Really top notch stuff.

Love them all but I'm not sure about the processing of #3. Gotta look at that again later to see how I like it.

Well done Danny!

Thanks idlaxstar.

Phil #2 and #3 are sudo-HDR, so It defiantly isn't going to be liked by all. I've found photographers hate them and customers like them.

Danny, 1 and 2 really shine imo. Not a huge fan of the processing on the third though. the Rivera pic is also right on. NIce work and glad to see back at cycling instead of having more reasons to provide another mental image of what an assfull must really look like. damn.

I tried 1/5th of a second shutter but didn't want to waste a bunch of time on it because I wasn't liking the results.

From your Avatar, I'd bet this ain't the first time you've seen trails.. Nice pics.. 4 is a killer shot.

See now Danny knows how to shoot cycling, and football with a flash, and other stuff, oh hell, Danny is just an exceptional photographer.

Danny, it must suck to be you, walking around with all that talent and being all good at your job and stuff . . .

Such a tough burden to deal with . . .

Will you be teaching any workshops? or is there someplace where we can just bask in the glow of your awesome-ness?

This is great stuff, I don't understand why I don't see it in SI or ESPN the Magazine every week.

Flame barriers up:

While nice photos and all, the only thing about them that say's cyclocross are the brakes, and maybe the crowd control tape. How about some 'CROSS images? ;)

Alright, I'll bite. The biggest reason I've yet to shoot cross is that the backgrounds are too busy for me, and I don't think I'd be able to do a good job of isolating the riders. It's just a style thing, and I definitely prefer them done this way.

Thanks Stella I think that is my favorite of the day.

Thanks Vesa :)

Thanks AZ it is tough getting the mags to look your way. Sponsors pay better though and have done better at that. I'll keep banging on doors though.

Biff there was only one small step section and the sand pit. Neither really did much for me but probably should have shoot more pics from those locations. I like them tight and clean, not right or wrong, just my style I guess. Here are a few:
