All the people that expect their products to perform like in the commercials are going to be VERY disappointed to begin with.

I think you just earned yourself that long overdue visit from the TF, fair and square. :D

I figured it would use an electronic shutter, theyre reasonably silenter than the "clickclick" of a mechanical one

Depends. The "shutter" sound effect on my cell phone is really loud.

You are aware that compact cameras often use an electronic sound effect that mimics the sound of a mechanical shutter?

Was I the only one who rewound the footage to see what gear the nature photographer used? :)

It's a gaffer taped Nikon body and he was holding an old Nikon 300 f/4.

Skill is very important but a fully charged battery is very very important

Well... I actually like this commercial: http://www.youtube.com …4Puw6AM4I&feature=related (external link)

The guy across the stream must have been an actual nature photographer who had already seen this thread and saw the OP's mentioned Lumix commercial.

You guys are totally missing your opportunity here!

It's ok, I'll tow your party line, even if you won't:

"Well of course the P&S got a better shot, the other guy's got a frickin' Noink!"

There, now all is right with the POTN world. You guys are losin' your comic edge!! ;)

Well... the grip is against Panasonic... so this is one issue that Canon fanboys and Noinks can unite on.

Well Canon is no better. See their T1i commercials during the superbowl? It basically hinted that a T1i should be used to shoot pro sports.

With the right lenses you could do it I bet. I couldn't, but I bet some pro sports shooter could do it in a pinch. Besides, weren't the pics in that commercial actually shot with a T1i? Not really the same thing.

I love the panasonic commercial for the waterproof camera though, where he skips it across the river. :)
