Hey guys,

I'm planning on walking into the Canon Service Center to have a lens calibrated tomorrow, but I forgot to call them to ask what I need to bring with me. My lens is still under warranty, so would it be enough for me to bring the sales receipt? If not, what else should I take with me? Thanks!

yes, you should have the receipt.

they will only take the lens and front and rear cover.

if you use a lens filter; it might be wise to remove it before you bring it in.

they will then place the lens within a clear plastic bag and tag it.

if it is a warranty item; Canon will deliver the item to your house (no charge) or if you need a faster turn around - you can pick it up at the service center.

they are usually very nice.

It would be a good idea to also bring the camera body that you are mainly using with this lens. They will calibrate the lens and body together.

Be sure to have the camera body cap, lens front and rear cap. They will take the battery and CF card out and return it to you. Remove the lens filter if you have one. That and the receipt is all that you'll need.
