I've been taking photos semi-seriously for the better part of this year. Finally took a couple of pictures I feel pretty good about.

Technically the images are exposed right. But I have never been comfortable with the angled view, for the same reason nobody hangs their pictures at an angle, they are just harder to understand. Personal taste though. :)

I am going to agree with Mitch on the first one, I'm not fan of tilted pictures like that either. They make people want to tilt (contort) their head to see what it is.
The second isn't tilted however, and, I think the angled view gives it more contrast and depth that you wouldn't get from a straight on shot from an object such as that.
Normally you wouldn't think of a rusty old piece of iron as something so beautiful. Nice shot!

Okay, I wasn't too sure how I felt about the angle of the first shot. I got a little sick when I was looking at it on my computer but I thought it looked a lot better than the shots I took of it straight up.
