I absolutely love this lens. It gets more use than any of my others.

I have been spending X amount of time browing through every page of this thread now looking at all the images, but the problem is that so many seem to be shot with the help of tubes, converters and more stuff and only a handful of them are pure 100mm macroshots with only the lens and no other extra fluff.
To be able to judge if the lens can produce the type of shots i would like to capture then i would like to see pure shots taken with only the lens and nothing else.

Those of you who own this lens could you please post some pure shots ? i would appreciate that as i'm thinking about buying this macrolens soon.

/ Magnus

That sucks to hear :( hehe
It still looks like people have to strap just about anything that can find and it's mother to this lens to be able to get as close as possible to their subjects. But i don't wanna know that if i'm gonna buy it. :)

Agree too!

But what i can say, is that my 60mm is extremely sharp and crisp, and i never used it with tubes or filters. From what i have seen in this thread (bin through it also...) it looks like "little brother" is a name u could use for the 60mm. I have a 17-55 too and also used some L glass and could not get results my 60mm gave me.
In my orientation days i choose the 60mm just because it seemed a bit more versatile to me, but thats just my opinion and can be different for any (hobby)photographer.

My mantis shot is using no tubes. Lens, body, flash, cheap homemade diffuser.

ALL my shots were taken with just this lens, though most of them did have a camera attached! Here are a couple to start with...

Just buy it...you won't regret it.

Thanks guys :) all your images look really nice and sharp from what i can see. Do they look as crispy sharp at 100% too ?

Ricardo: You had your camera attatched ? no way.. you know that's cheating! i asked for pure shots, that means only the lens and no camera should be used. :D

Damn, I'm always getting SOMETHING wrong!

Regarding crops, yes...if that's what you're after. Don't worry about this lens, it didn't get it's great reputaion for nothing.
