Different lens has different flare characteristics. Some are very easy to produce flares, some are harder.

Post up your best/worst/strangest/c​oolest flares shot - state the lens too.

Flares are IN :D

Torture test with the Tomioka Yashinon 55/1.2. I hope to put this to use creatively one of these days.

Is/was there a filter on the lens? If so, that needs to be mentioned since a filter will contribute to flare, otherwise...

I try to avoid flares generally but these kinda look cool. At least if it was voluntary ;)

And it gives a real nice 14 point sunstar. Compare it to the 17-40's 7 point star.

The 70-200/2.8LIS isn't too shabby, but only gives an 8-point star at f/22:
