I accidentally got splatters of blood and alcohol on my 3 week old 7D today. Spent over an hour cleaning it. Don't ask how it happened. Luckily it was my blood, because I don't want anyone else's blood on my camera.

Your stories?

*scribbles note to self* "Do not ever buy newton's used 7D should it ever hit the marketplace." */end note*

Well now you have to tell us :p.

The only thing my camera has had was a little light snowfall. I take pretty good care of the little guy :D.

My 1D2's seen red wine, beer, sweat, water, and rain (no blood yet fortunately) but most recently it got a nice spray of champagne at the Giants celebration in Civic Center when the crowd went wild when they won. Still a clickin and looking good :D

My 8 day old 30D got pwned when I was covering a flood for the paper I was working for at the time...about half the functions went on it after being out in a massive downpour for quite a while...I took it inside and let it dry out for a few days and it worked flawlessly for 3 more years until I sold it.

Other than that I've been ridiculously careful to the point of wiping my hands before touching my cameras :p

*sigh*

I was at a party/event with my camera over my shoulder. A friend couldn't twist off the cap to his beer. No bottle opener was to be found. I tried to help him by using the slam beer bottle cap on edge of the table trick. Well that didn't go as planned.

My hand looked icky covered in beer and blood, but I was devastated my camera got the hit of some of it.

This is why I don't usually take my camera to parties...just asking to get smashed/spilled on/stolen/etc...

So far the worse that's happened to me is I've come home to find my 40D in a big puddle of water from a leaking pipe above it. Dried it right and it works fine to this day! ;)

my 1Dii has had pepsi, milk, and a chocolate cake with a bunch of lit candles dumped on it all at separate times...just washed it off and dried it and it never showed any signs of damage.

So far, only rain. The sad bit was that at 3AM, in my sleep-deprived mentally-deficient state, I decided to set up my 50D + 28-135mm in the pouring rain on a tripod to see if it was weatherproof.

Good news is that the camera can hold up to some pretty decent rain. Still, in retrospect, putting out $1,000 worth of equipment in the rain to test its weatherproofing isn't my best idea...

A splash of a rather fine chateauneuf du pape. a quick rinse off and a wipe down and all was well.

I thought the LCD screen on my 50D had become badly scratched in my camera case. I ordered and received a replacement window and before replacing the screen cover I figured "what the heck" and started scraping on the window aggressively with my fingernail (I had tried to clean it gently earlier with a microfiber cloth). Whatever it was slowly and with great effort came off. I finally used Simple Green and a toothpick to scrape the residue from both the 50D and XSi. I think it was dried seagull saliva and/or droppings (couldn't tell) as I had been shooting BIF by Lake Michigan.

Only some very, very light rain in Poland.

I wanted to film the fountain - but I would have packed up had it gotten worse.
(So light that even a camera without any sealing should have been fine)
