I love silhouettes. The technique can make for some great dramatic shots with a lot of pop and uniqueness.

I'll start off with a couple of mine.

1. Dead Tree Silhouette at Garden of the Gods
QUOTED IMAGE

The silhouette is great, but the color that the silhouette is against is wonderful. I love the photo.

just a few of my thoughts...

Great shot's Shawn. Climbing shot's are perfect for silhouettes. Lots of time they're backlit from the sky and the gear hanging off makes great shapes.

Thanks! That's one of my favorites too. Just shot it a few weeks ago. Just got a 11x14 print that looks awesome on the wall. Just a basic RAW conversion. The sky at dusk was just awesome and I didn't have to touch it.

Thx MtnDog. I saw this thread and thought "I've got sillouettes all over the place" Of course Sunsets provide great sillouettes too...

One from way back, one early cold morning. There's a small amount of ice in the tree.
