How in the hell does the NFL not suspend AJ for the fight with Finnegan yeserday?

http://msn.foxsports.com …ht-suspension-fine-112910 (external link)

Same reason Seymour didn't get suspended last week.

Once again, the NFL shows that football plays are subject to heavier fines and suspensions than non football plays.

I think the fighting fines need to be raised & suspensions possible, but I do kind of understand why they're currently not treated as harshly as helmet to helmet hits and such. It's more of an image thing with fighting. No one's going to get hurt (not seriously, at least) by throwing a few punches. It'll get broken up before anyone does any serious damage.

That's not the case with the helmet to helmet hits or smoking a defenseless receiver. I think it's great that the NFL is trying to look out for the health of the players, but they're definitely going a bit overboard at the moment. Hopefully the players and refs will settle into the new rules or they'll look at doing things differently going forward.

With all of that said, I think they should go to an automatic $100K fine for ripping a helmet off with a one game suspension for going after the guy after the helmet is off.

Seymour's was a little worse because it was a sucker punch, in my opinion. Finnigan is a little punk and knew what was about to happen. He instigated it during that play and the previous play.

Why can't I drop Gore?!?! He's done for the season, yet I am stuck with him... Don't get me wrong, I'm sorry the guy is hurt, but we only get so many to roster and now I have a dead roster spot!! It's not like I get any benefit for sticking with him over the remainder of the season...

Chill! It just happened last night. The site will get updated and Gore will be able to be dropped. You can't add anyone until Thursday anyway to take his place.

It was just announced. I'm sure he'll be off the no-drop list in a few hours. Patience young grasshopper, patience.

I agree with your comments about helmet to helmet and hitting a reciever. The worst cheap shot i've seen was when Atkinson hit Lynn Swann , more like a clothesline(it's on youtube)

But I dissagre about Seymours Slap being worse , which was instigated by Ben , and done in the heat of the moment . Maybe Ben should have been fined also.:)
But no way can one compare it to what Finnigan did. It's been reported that before the play he told his teammates , " Watch this ". So it sounds like he planned his action . I doubt he planned on getting his a%% kicked  .

Thats what happens when you under estimate the quiet ones. He thought Andre was a punk. Well we all know what happened next

Gradkowski is out for the season . He seems to get hurt a lot . Now the job is Campbells , he won't have to look over his shoulder anymore . But wait there's Kyle Boller ! So maybe Jason does have to worry . Anyway , the Raiders have regressed the last 2 weeks , they look bad on D . I look for a different round of QBs next year .

I meant more that it was a one-way type of thing whereas the fight this weekend was a semi-mutual thing. Ben really didn't instigate it, he more or less just bumped Seymour as he was going by him to celebrate (yeah, he put his hand on him as he went past him, but it was more of a trying to get through the crowd type of thing). Seymour had kind of gotten into it with one of the Steeler's linemen during the play, so I think he thought it was the lineman coming after him and he was semi defending himself. It was certainly out of character for Seymour.

It's always fun to see a punk get his tail whipped. Finningan is one of those jerks that does things because he knows people can't really do anything back to him without getting into trouble. I think he just figured out he shouldn't do that crap when the game is basically over.

Maybe they'll go for Cam Newton, he isn't Jamarcus Russell by any stretch. He runs wild and can actually throw the ball. The best QB I've seen this year, even though the kid at Arkansas is pretty good. LSU fans like me can attest to both being good and our QB sucks.

I'm so glad I held on to Vincent Jackson so long, he's hurt in the first quarter he played this year. He gets my Most Worthless Bum Award this week even though he scored better than Reggie Bush. 0 is better than - .70.

What does everyone think of the proposed 18 game season? I don't like it, personally. As much as I love football and would love to have another weekend of it, I think that's just a little too much to ask of the players. Football is such a grueling game and adding another game could really add to not only the odds of getting hurt during the extra game, but also to the potential of more long-term injuries from added wear & tear on their bodies.

Im a gators fan and i was upset when Cam left due to Tebow coming back for his senior year. I knew Cam would be a star. Now if only he can shake off all this payoff stuff.
