^^JJmc, I don't quite understand your point here.

Shooting in full manul is, FULL manual. Let's say 1/100, F4 and ISO 200. If you want -1 light stop, change one of those setting. Either drop to 1/200 or F5.6 or ISO 100. Letting the camera decide which setting to move would not be FULL manual. So it makes senses that there is no such thing.

That's what I thought too so I must not be understanding what JJmc is trying to do and what others are saying is the issue.

I'm not by my camera right now to test the AEB setting but I thought for sure when I did play around in manual mode I could change anything I wanted and it did not take three shots when I pressed the shutter.

No, and it wont take 3 shots unless you have AEB on. I know you can compensate by just adjusting exposure and shutter speed, however im just mad at the fact that it doesnt give you the option to 1 stop higher or lower with the exposure. It lets you change the exposure but only if you want to take 3 consecutive shots.

So far I am in love with this body! Feels great in the hand and the screen is drop dead gorgeous!

Here's the very first shot taken with the 60D at ISO6400 of my trusty 1D Mark II.

Lots more photos to come from me with this body :D

I am not sure what you are saying - if you do not use AEB - you can still adjust the exposure upto +/- 3 stops by setting exposure compensation.

i.e. you can change exposure for every shot - without taking 3 shots - and you can go upto 3 stops higher or lower with the exposure.

Ok, got it. I'm still learning the camera so it sounded like you were talking about the same thing which I know you were not doing.

So...... after checking out the different modes I found what you were talking about. Interesting how they took away Exposure Comp. from manual mode but left AEB.

I guess Canon just figured in manual one would just manually change the exposure and not want to "always" (automatically) have the camera set to over/under expose. Which I'm assuming adjusting Exposure comp. in the menu for the other modes would do.

In a way it makes sense to me since I've never had a camera that would allow me to preset the exposure to automatically over/under expose the shots.

But I can understand the frustration.

Sorry for taking up so much bandwidth on this and thanks for helping me learn a little more about the camera even though that was not your intension.

Jon...

Ok, first test shot and first attempt at posting an image on this forum. Fingers crossed, here goes...

OK, well that didn't work. I think the file is too big. While I work out what's going on, here's the link to the image in flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ziggy_j/5222807807/#/ (external link)

I'm also a recent owner of the 60D! Love it, love it and love it!

I'm also awaiting the production of a 3rd party grip for it!

Here's one of the first shots I took:

If anyone find a 3rd party grip any time soon, could you please let me know?

Love the first one with skaters (in November?) and the insects on top of the building! ... Beatles, I think? ;) But seriously - done in portrait orientation, yes? Love the building, too.

Looks like one cop got a crack in the face before the other 7 cops took the guy down...

All great shots - will look forward to your imagination.
