I've bumped the dial so many times by accident, glad that it was never on a paid gig... I'd love to do this, but they should do it for free :/

Red gaffer tape, locking mode dial hack. Two lights: Einstein with HOBD beauty dish as key (diffusion sock) and hot shoed 580 EX II bounced off ceiling for fill. Jonathan Ocab - https://www.ocabj.net

Also note the tape over the diopter knob because sometimes that get's bumped too. even diopter adjuster get taped..

apersson850 Cream of the Crop ![]() More info | Store your favorite setting (whether it's M, P or...) under C1, C2 and C3. Then set your camera to C3. Now you have a two position "bump margin" for the dial, before it changes behavior of the camera. Anders

(Can you imagine the tidal wave of demands, many trivial, they would be hit with if that were the expectation?) The comments here indicate that not everyone has this mode dial problem, and that some would prefer not to have a locking dial even if it were free. It is nice that they are not making those who want/need it badly enough wait for the next model to get it. +1 John Caputo
