As the title states... how have you leveraged the 8fps on the 7D - what do you use it for?

Panning shots. I shoot a few by pushing the button each time as they approach, and then hold it down when they cross my path. Seems to work for me.

I use it for panning as well - typically for motor sports and dog agility. For everything else, I am more careful and think about my shots, instead of spray and pray.

I've only used mine to see how it works and to demonstrate it to others.. I don't normally shoot burst, and when I do, it's at the slower 3fps speed.

Hmmm interesting I never really thought about using the 8fps for panning. Whenever I do pans it is just about always a one-shot... focusing more on following I guess and getting that sharp focus/blurry BG right the first time! :)

I haven't used mine in anger yet, but it's impossible to get less than two shots with it switched on :D

Anything that moves basically - pro-football, motorcycle racing, gun dogs, birds in flight. Just have to go easy with the finger pressure. It is very useful.

Any time things happen fast; example a wren is purching on a branch close to it's nest, small fast bird, I have one chance squeeze the shutter for an 8 fps burst.

At home I find I shot 10 frames, the wren is in 8 of them, he twist about looking for danger so with the limited dof he is in focus in two and head out of focus in 2, the remainder have motion blur.

Without the 8 fps probably no usable shots.
