I understand there are some differences between hand straps but its pretty much the same concept. Trying to move my index finger was pretty annoying.

I've had one of the originals for quite some time, upgraded it to the newer clasp/ring, and its been great. I'm strapless whenever I can, but when I know I'll be carrying one or more cameras all day, and want to free my hands once in a while on goes the RS. When I'm using two bodies, one is on a RS, the other is on a neck strap. Quick to grab either, they're not clanking into each other, I can get my hands free if I need them, and I look like a total geek. ![]() I just ordered one of the new Sport models. Haven't used it yet, but hoping it solves the one issue I have with my RS. It tends to walk down my shoulder, and I have to slide it back up. The Sport is bulkier, so I'll only use it for all day events, like weddings, but I think it'll solve the problem. The other thing I've done is drill a hole in the side of my RRS base plates, so I don't use the BR rings on my cameras. Since my baseplates are always mounted, I can just clip on the strap when I want to use it, no little nubbin hanging out the bottom when I'm not using it. I've also attached one of BR's clasps to a regular strap(both ends), so when I'm using two bodies it can clasp to the same hole. could you possibly do a review on the rs sport? does it have the buckle still on the back like the rs-7? - 5DmarkII | EF 24-70L F2.8 | EF 70-200L F4 | 580EX II | Gitzo 1541T w/ Photoclam Pro-34NS -

Nope, no buckle on the back. Nice strap. Only used it once since I got it last week, but the contoured shoulder pad is a quite a bit better than my RS7 and the "BRAD" works surprisingly well, adds a bit of stability. I didn't expect much more from it than my RS7, but I think the sport is likely to be my go to. 1D3 | 7D | 16-35II | 17-40 f/4L | 24-105 f/4L IS | 50 f/1.4 | 70-200f/2.8L | 70-200 f/4 | 85 f/1.8 | 100 f/2.8 Macro | 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L | 580EXII

Like melvinudawl, only used it once. Seems nice. The underarm tether keeps it from sliding around, so it did fix my 1 issue with the previous straps. As mentioned above, I have an RS-1, I've been using since May of 08, and it'll probably still see the most use. The RS-1 is much smaller and lighter, and I can cram it in a smaller space in my bag, so its there if I want it. I go strapless most of the time, only grabbing a strap when I need my hands(and setting the camera down doesn't make sense), or when I'm working 2 bodies. If I know I'll be using a strap, I'll probably throw the Sport in my bag, but the RS-1 will live there. John Caputo

Dec 07, 2010 17:36 | #41 I used to use the Lowepro neoprene neckstraps but now have a Crumpler one with a Canon handstrap on my 1d4. This neckstrap, though it has no give in it, is even more comfortable than the Noeporene one (suprising as I have arthritis in my neck) and I move to the hand strap if my neck gets tired. Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).
