Could you share what lens you used and maybe your settings? Always curious when it comes to difficult lighting for dances etc. when shutters speeds can't be slowed down.

Great photos and lighting. I take our community performance photos as well and always find it challenging to get good photos due to limited and changing lighting conditions. Would appreciate if you could share your shooting details. Cheers!

Thanks folks!

The people running the venue are used to doing these shows so they usually do a pretty good job with the lighting. I usually set the ISO high and keep it there as the lighting is centrally focused. If the dancer takes a couple of steps in either direction the light can fall off several stops, making shutter speed an issue.

All images are from either a 5D or 5DmkII. Here are some details...

1.
ISO 800, 135L, f/2.0, 1/800 second. A lot of dodge and burn as the musicians were over a stop brighter than the dancer.
