I was like you. Then i bought a flash and damn did it make a difference. I just got the jessops 360 for £79 from (you guessed it) Jessops.

Works a treat.

Just debating this myself. Don't shoot much indoors, but Xmas is looming and a lot of family that I'd like to get shots of ..get a fast lens, or a cheap flash??

Derek

yeah i'm probably going to do both, i found a 420ex on craigs*st awhile back for 80 bucks i should have snagged it.

Guy's i cant tell if my battery is already worn down or not but does taking videos significantly decrease battery life compared to taking pictures only(bought a used t1i)? I remember on my XS my battery lasted 300+ shots. Now i've taking maybe 50 shots and maybe 10 minutes of video and the battery is almost gone.

video killed my battery and i've only done 1 video, so i'm not sure its that but it used alot of power maybe because i used liveview too.

I'm new to DSLR photography. Still climbing that learning curve. Excited to get a photo that looks better than what I could have taken with the old camera.
