Big enough to use on a dual screen setup, small enough to allow you to use the keyboard easily. I wouldn't want another size. The batteries would only be needed if on the road with it, otherwise, its plugged in via USB, so thats a non issue. I own both a Mac Pro and Mac Book Pro, so its nice to have the option of using it on either system.
