Are you guys using any special settings for the snow shots, to keep it nice n white? I havent played with my camera for awhile, so Im a bit rusty, but def want to get some of Brutus when it starts snowing.

And LOVE the shot of the dog on the dock with the mountains in the background Sue! Would LOVE to live there.

Thank you for the many kind comments regarding that shot of our big red dog on the dock. That shot was a one-in-a-million. I had only the S5 P&S with me when we headed to our dock to ensure everything was okay after a storm. Jake (the dog) ran down the ramp and onto the fresh snow on the dock. Then he turned back to look at a bird or something in the trees ... fortunately, my little camera was in my hand and ready to shoot!

Overexpose the shots against the cameras metering by 1 to 2 stops. The camera meters a primarily white scene as grey which is in effect an underexposure. So you need to overexpose to compensate.

On most cameras this is marked as "EV"

These are all great shots. I don't mean to rain on anyones parade but be careful when it's cold out because my Corgi Blaze froze her front feet pads this morning. She went out for her morning batroom break and started crying and limping after being out only a couple of minutes. She is ok but just watch those low temps.

Aftermath of the blizzard. County is under a State of Emergency and the military has been called in to help rescue stranded motorists. But the dogs love the snow! Our dog Baron and the neighbour's German Shepard Heidi.
