Hi all,

It pains me to post these as an Aussie watching Cook & KP dismantle our bowling with such ease. Shot with my 50d & EF 100-400mm. Have a few more but having trouble with my photobucket so only 2 for now.

Cheers
Andrew

Just a punter, no media pass. That said I am a member so was able to sit in the front row at square leg, with the sun behind. So maybe only 1 meter behind but same level as where the media guys were.

Nope...not at the gate or by the fence. I would feel sorry for them if they felt threatened by me with a 100-400 pump and a 50d....like I did when my mate borrowed my camera last year and wandred around in the members (out the back) taking candids only to be approached by a photographer, and that was a 400d attached to the 100-400 :)

You need to red the terms of entry it says something like photographers can only be for personal use and are not to be published even on here you as a member should be aware of this.
Don't for one minute think I agree with these terms but thats what they are and I know shots loaded to another photographic site were taken down by the moderators because of the terms and the attitude of CA.

Thanks Steve

Some really nice shots mate. Shame you weren't based in Perth! Aside from the brilliant result there would have been some excellent potential to get photos of all the caught behind catches

Bid sad to see this type of reply Steve, but I understand. These are for personal use only, but more importantly for my enjoyment, learning and best of all capturing interesting memories of a sport I love. I post them here seeking encouragement not opportunities to sell the images, if they are taken down so be it...

I had never noticed anything in the hand book and just had a look and sure enough there is, one line, stating that "No Professional Still/Video Equipment"...interesting and I wonder what "Professional" means? I also wonder how that would be policed given the significant rise in the numbers of Nikon & Canon entry level DSLR's (mine included) that I saw when in there? Interesting the Nikon guys and their big black lenses blend in better that a white Canon lens :)

Anyway, Sorry my images motivated your comment. That said, its unlikley to stop me taking images at my favorite sporting events and from time to time sharing them here in the hope the motivate others to try things just as I have learned from looking, reading and commenting on other fantastic images in here.

Cheers
Andrew

I thought that my members pass said I wasn't even allowed to bring in my 'professional camera'. I didn't bother bringing it, scared that I wouldn't be allowed in.

i would be too scared to. If they turn you away you're in a horrible position of missing the cricket or leaving your camera in a locker.

Hay I don't think there is anything wrong with taking shots and posting them I'm all for it, think you misread what I said. All I know is if CA see these shots, they will more than likely send some legal letter to the owners of this site.

Thanks Steve

That last shot is a killer with the ball still in the frame. Hopefully OZ doesn't stumble like the WI did.
