I'm going to Vegas this weekend, any good places to buy lenses from? I'm from Toronto so looking for some savings on a new lens.

All I saw when I was there was the typical tourist trap shop on the strip. Selling a G10 NIB for $600. What a deal...
I didn't have a chance to get off the strip to look around though.

I'd check the pawn shops for bargains.

Sahara camera is mostly for misc equipments like tripods, cases and such. Located on Sahara and I-15 right by mcdonalds in front of palace station. Their lenses r mostly tamrons.

B&C camera, on Sahara between Decatur and arville, r good priced. Canons, Nikons and Sony r what they carry. They also carry tokina lenses.

Casey's camera on Tropicana between Maryland and eastern carries the most brands and sigma lenses. But I dont like them much. That's a personal opinion on my part.

If anything, I would recommend B&C camera, talk to Joe. He's the owner and imo, the most knowledgeable out of all three shops.

I just got back from Vegas last night and speaking of the stores on the strip, does anyone know what the deal is there? They are all fully stocked but the prices are insane? Do they ever sell any gear? Do they stay afloat because they are attached to casinos? Or is it all a behind the scenes kinda business? Just struck me as weird some of the prices I got when I just stepped in to ask, mostly out of curiosity not because I wanted to buy.

I walked in to a few of the stores on the strip... and after talking with the employees for 30 seconds.. I walked out. Reminded me of the Times Square shops in NYC... very sketchy.

I did have B&H mail some stuff to me while I was in Vegas... that was by far the best deal I found! LOL

Hey MuskyHunter.... you on CGN under that name as well?? If so, too bad you didn't wait until January to go to Vegas..... ;)

The SHOT show is exactly what I was referring to :)

Hope the weather is better this year. I traded the snow for rain! LOL

I cant wait for it again this next month. Last year I had to do the whole thing on Friday, and my pedometer said I walked 25 miles that day!
