Well you have to be lucky to find a non standard solution. It's not like the company who made that, was thinking of the Tokina when they sized it ;-)a

Thanks for the tip.

This is better. Only $2.00 from Home Depot. Actually snaps in place and it covers all the openings in the hood..

A photographer on FM used this lens during a wedding and posted a link to his website page dedicated to the lens' usage.

Thanks... it's too bad they were all shot under tough conditions. Most of those are at very slow shutter speeds which certainly had an effect on the results.

My plan to try one yesterday fizzled out. No one has it in stock and they are not expecting to have it in till next month.

Yes, I noticed after I downloaded a few of the pics. Zoomed-in showed noise reduction smear, telltale in hair. Dark venue didn't allow for seeing detail at frame edges. Subject / camera movement was apparent in a few.

Thanks for taking the time to post the update but.....

I don't make buying decisions based on web sized images. I really need to see some reputable reviews and/or get my hands on one to try out for myself.

In the meantime, any 17-40/16-35II owners that have gotten their hands on the Tokina.. I would appreciate their comments.

The lazy Jhhh;jhOIHoph Purolator driver decided it was too much work to look at the directory in the lobby of my building to ring me and just left. Now I won't be seeing the lens till Monday night.
