I'm a new 20D user and I'm very excited to get out there and see what it can do. My dad recently got the 7D and passed down his 20D to me. :) My first dslr camera which was his first one. Wondering what it can do. Maybe some of you guys can post your pics on here so I can see. Also wondering if there might be a thread already on the 20D like an faq thread about it. I have lots of questions for 20D users. :) I'm kinda a noob with mine. :(

Ask and you shall receive :)

My 20D has been great but I need a camera that can shoot at low light and 20D just doesn't cut it at ISO 1600.

Maybe it's your shooting techniques but my 20D is exceptionally good at 1600 ISO..

Here's a pic I shot when comparing my 20D to my 50D at 1600 ISO..

Own my 20D for over 5 years now and still love it but I just ordered a 5D mark ii last week. I will still keep my 20D as a back up and perhaps give to my daughter to learn photography. My 20D has been great but I need a camera that can shoot at low light and 20D just doesn't cut it at ISO 1600. My 5D mark ii should be here soon.

you can use the custom function to expand it to 3200, but wouldn't be very noise friendly compared to the higher end bodies

That is something I wanted to know. I used to have 40D but sold it. I now have a chance to get 20D. Is ISO1600 and 3200 on 20D not as good as on 40D? The 20D samples on dpreview and other review sites seem to suggest to me that 20D is as good if not better than 40D at these high ISOs. Am I wrong? Not comparing with 5D of course

The 40D will beat the 20D at all ISOs, but not by a ton. A good 40D is also twice the price of a good 20D. ;)

Bought my 20D the first month they were available. Its been around the world twice and has never had a problem. While it might be nice to "upgrade" I still have not been able to rationalize the expenditure (I have spent the money on lenses, accessories, and "how to" books). I also sometimes take my wife's 850 IS for times when I may want to take some shots without carrying my entire kit.

I have my brothers 20D with me to clean out his sensor....and I took some shots to compare it them to my 5D II...Man the 20D shots look soft and lack detail compared to the 5D II. For some reason the 5D II pictures look so natural.....

I don't think I could ever shoot with a 20D....there are some good samples here, but if those shots were taken with a 5D they could have been much better..

My wedding photog (who I now assist sometimes) went from 20D+30D to 30D+40D to 5DmkII+40D and then selling the 40D altogether. He also said that the images need much less PP work.

20D/30D is definitely capable or producing excellent images but you do need to massage them in post processing to get them to pop.

Are there any 20D lovers wanting to buy a backup body? I'm sad to say that I must sell mine, I have bought a 40D and the 30D is now assigned to backup.

I shoot with our 20D. It's a good learning camera for me. I also carry an SD1100 with me everywhere since the 20D doesn't fit in my purse.

Are there any exclusive 20D users left? I can't believe this camera was $2800 in Canada when it came out and people complain how much the 60D is! LOL times have really changed.
