We had a great sky to begin the night.
Then it started getting a bit cloudy.
So I rolled with it.
This is the best I got.
Rest looked like this:

thx guys for posting....some great shots here...
Driving home from work, saw this rising moon over horizon @ 5:30pm still showed the dust of the atmosphere...stopped roadside park and got this (yea, gear was in car)
snapped Jupiter and her moons quickly, drove home.
Eclipse happening, this about 1:26am clouds already coming/going so detail here lessened
Then WHAM the wall of clouds @ 1:48am...

Here in NJ the eclipse was really neat. I tried to get some shots of it, but really didn't know what I was doing. I have a Rebel xs with a 75-300 lens. I put it on Manual and 400 ISO. It was too cold (26*)to keep trying, so I'll watch for pictures on the web.

Yeah, those clouds. I remember thinking I'd get nothing, looking at the weather, then when one of my friends was leaving to go home, we walked out and the sky was clear. Managed to get some shots before they overtook the moon again, and then sat out there going numb until the full eclipse actually occurred just to say we saw it eclipse. Stupid weather, ruining the best part of the eclipse.

My little effort. It was a bit low on the horizon here in New Zealand.

First time doing any astrophotography. Was rather fun, going to do more I think. Apologies if the focus is wonky. Wasn't able to focus very well during the main event with Live view, so I got as good as I could.

It was hovering around 0 degrees F when I was out in my backyard here in Palmer, AK during the first hour of the lunar eclipse. But what a wonderful hour it was.
