Dec 24, 2010 00:13 | #2 Vivitar 383 is a great choice,,,was my first flash b4 I went 580 exii. Nikon D850 and a bunch of stuff, I have learned a lot here when I was shooting Canon, staying to keep learning..."Every time I set up I learn something new".

I have seen good flashes such as the Vivitar or Sunpak at flea markets and the like for $5, but with a digital camera you must make sure that the voltage of any older one is safe (there are websites) or get an accessory that makes it safe.

While these do carry some QC issues, they offer a whole lot of bang for the buck. — Neil
