Extreme Flare test !

I was out walking in the snow in Northants UK. I decided to take this shot with the sun in the frame.

I couldn't really see the LCD, but had fun guessing a bit

How well matched is the 270EX with the G12? I had a G9 with a 420EX and it was just too large for decent balance.

Thinking of selling off the DSLR kit and going light.

Wow! those are great! What was the camera specs on those shots?

used the ND function and a polarizer filter, worked on burning and saturation in PS in a couple layers

Just ordered my G12 today to use on my hikes. Great work in this thread. Makes me very happy with my decision!

Looking at this thread, I gotta agree with that! Some of these shots look just as good as anything from my 500d.

Sold all mine, now using just the G12 and purchased a 270EX for it and it's very well suited, find it's much better than using the on camera, also purchased a dome for the flash which helps as well. Can't go wrong with it, nice, light and powerful enough for most situations, plus offers full bounce.

Cool, just took the plunge and checked out a J&R. My first trip with them, but Adorama isnt running their Bill Me Later promo till after mid Jan.

Ill surely miss the 1D MKIII as it has been a wonderful DSLR for me, but it just no longer makes sense to have all these lenses and kit sitting around largely unused and only using the camera as a hobbyist.

So I am at best a hobbyist but have been having a ton of fun with the G 12 and look forward to learning a lot. In the spirit of the season here is the first shot I have ever posted. Manual settings/focus f/4.5 at 30.5 mm, 2 seconds, ISO 100

My wife just pointed out tome that I had cropped my previous image and that this might not be the standard. Is there a certain aspect ratio that is considered to be the standard for putting images on a forum such as this?
