I'm so close to buying a new 5dII

I just about have myself talked into buying a new Canon 5dMII.

My 5D is at Canon for the mirror (recal) fix and may now need to find a new home.

With the instant rebates that Canon has, and scheduled to end on 1/8, now seem like it would be the best time to buy, I'm already going to order a new 70-200IS MII anyway and if I order the body I would get another $200. discount.
Anybody want to give me a shove in the right direction?:p

Do it. I had a 5D and went to a 5DII. Zero regrets and much positive to say. I also have the MKII.

I want to talk myself into buying one, but realistically, I shouldn't. I could afford it, but I shouldn't buy it. As a 3rd year college student, I think its a bad idea, at least for now, since its merely hobby for me. Although.....I have been craving video, as well as microadjustment to make up for slight softness at f/1.4 with my 35L. Besides that, my 5D can do everything I want it to.

But, you're not me,so....BUY IT!

I have been saving for a 5D II for quite a while; so, sold my XSi (w kit lens), Sigma 10-22, Sigma 30mm, and the Canon 55-250mm to Adorama for a 5D II...it gets here Tuesday

What in the 5DII will allow you to take photos that the 5D can't? If you can answer this question and identify how the 5DII can improve your photos, then go for it. If you can't...then it is just gear lust. Save the money and take a nice vacation instead.

Had both and kept the 5d as it was good enough. I still deeply regret selling the 5dmkii but I was able to buy some lenses that extend my photography more than the 5dmkii did. However, I have enough funds to buy the mkii again and I'm wondering if I should do it. Supposedly, the 5dmkiii should come out later this year so I'm trying to hold off until then.

Tbh, the difference between the 5d1 and 2 isn't as noticeable as youd think.

Its just the gadget side the pics look similar.

That new 70-200IS2.8 on the other hand...drool.

I love my 5DII.

Well, I wouldn't trade my 5d2 for a 5d1... but i might for a 1ds2. (Aslong as it meant extra cash in my pocket i could put towards somethin in the studio.)

or if i needed two, get two 5d1s as oposed to 1x5d2.

No, I wouldn't trade it straight across either. But would you trade the 5DII for a 5D and a 35 1.4 or a 5D and a 135L or a 5D and a 24 TSE lens?

Buy it.

If you need a 70-200 f2.8 IS II and a 5D2 then the rebates are great, go for it!
