Oddly enough, one was just posted on the GetDPI B&S forum just a few hours ago:

http://forum.getdpi.com ….php?p=276850&postcount=1 (external link)

I've never heard of a Sphero 60 before either. Thanks for pointing it out, Luke.

Dave F.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about, I found it interesting and had never seen one before. Get DPI forums are great for Elinchrom Bargains, pity I live across at the Pacific.

I think it'd be an interesting modifier. I'd like to see if you could change the falloff rate and light hitting certain parts of your subject by adjusting the angle of the deflector. Thinking if you aimed it angled towards the roof of the dish you'd get faster fall off down the subject. I wish I lived in Europe, I'd buy it for the hell of testing it out.

Love the hair and makeup on this one.

The lighting is half bad either.

haha thanks man, i have two of them (dlites not octa) and i actually took test shots. and they arent very good. i changed to a higher f stop and 80% of the image was pitch black with a straight line going across the image and the 80% below that line is complete black and the top part is part of the actual image. i hope that made sense. it made me worry about if i got a defective kit or if there is some kind of rule that "if you do this, then part of the image wont be captured".

Sheldon, are there any any samples of the Mola dish yet ;) I've been itching to get one but I am not sure which one... (no Mantti for sure though, because it's the size of my king size bed)

When I shoot I start out at F11 and then go from there. If you want shallow DOF just use the modeling lamp and adjust the power on that accordingly

Yes FJ is right You are going over max synch speed. It is usally 125-250. The shutter speed isnt stopping the motion the flash is. you can shot at 1/60 and if there isnt any ambient light you would get the same picture. if there is ambient and then you shoot a slow shutter to get that in you are dragging the shutter

No real samples yet, other than that random shot of my son and the Wii. It's been bitterly cold here, sub freezing outdoors and I haven't gotten it out on location to get anything decent. Soon, hopefully!
