That always seems to bring a flurry of activity. This time I saw 8 male Cardinals and 3 females at the same time. It looked like my tree had Christmas bows in it.

Low lighting, high iso's, and slow shutter speeds. But, I still like how these turned out.

Now, we play.....Name That Finch...since I still have trouble between House Finches and Purple Finches...

If I had my picks, I would say 1 and 3 are House Finches, but 2 is a Purple?

Last one of a female that I really liked...

Thanks, as always.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

They all turned out well chopper. Nice detail in the Cardinal shots. All of your Finches are of the House variety.

Thanks so much, guys.

Brad, thanks for the ID's. Someone was trying to tell me I had purples mixed in, and I got all confused again. This helps because the red coloring can vary on these guys quite a bit, but from what I read ahwile back...the brown stripe never lies.

Nice shots, love the cardinal. I've thought the same thing when seeing a tree full of these colourful birds - that it looks like a decorated Christmas tree. :)

Good looking yardbirds Chopper! I miss my birds, as I'm away from home for awhile. Nice shooting!

Thanks again, you guys. I wondered how the high-iso stuff would look when I took them. Not too bad. I may not be as afraid of dusk anymore.
