Just realized that I never posted my first attempts at 4x5 developing. Ilford delta 100 in D-76. Quick and dirty scans with a cheap ass flatbed.

Eh, just a little something I was playing around with.

I actually think I ought to set up a darkroom, because I enjoy working with film a HELL of a lot more than working with digital photography. I dunno, man...there's nothing I love doing more than going to the school's darkroom and working on prints alone, while I just don't get any fun out of working on images on a computer. Instant feedback on LCD screens is nice, but I'm pretty much noticing that NONE of my best stuff is done with digital cameras. Furthermore, when I have to wait to see how the pictures came out, every day ends up being like Christmas. Driving to the photo lab to process the film and make prints is pretty much the closest I've come to feeling like "a kid on Christmas" since I literally WAS a kid on Christmas morning. This photograph thing is absolutely more fun, and I get better results, when I'm working with film. I really ought to invest in setting up a home darkroom so that I don't have to rely on the school's facilities and can shoot with film whenever I want to.

Anyway, I'm not saying that this picture is good or anything. I'm just really short on images that I'm willing to show, and I don't happen to have many prints that I can scan onto my computer and then upload onto the internet.

I don't think I have ever shared in here, though all I really shoot anymore is film. I've been trying to get used to MF and off-camera flash use, etc. Really having a blast.

Is this thread dead yet?? Well, I am venturing into film now. Have the lab processed my 35mm color negatives and I do my own scanning. I do wish the scan would be sharper. Then, again, I am pixel peeping. Some shots from Fuji Superia 400, Contax RTS II, and Carl Zeiss 35-70 f3.4

I need some film-advice guys.

I've been shooting on Fuji Provia for a while now, I've always liked the colours. However I'm getting pretty fed up of the fuss that is developing E-6 film.... can anybody recommend some C-41 film that has similar colour qualities to Provia?

a lot of people seem to really like Ektar 100 but from my personal experience I find the tones are a little too red in the shadows for me. I personally really like the Portra 160VC

Yes, I have always felt ektar to be the same way, I got very green tones off some rolls too, never figured out that one. 160vc is nice, but I heard they stopped the release of the VC/NC series, making a standard Porta film. I'm thinking about trying this out out see how it is.

160VC and NC are still around. 400 is now just standard Portra.
