If it's open I imagine

Ajc is reporting its shut Monday - so time for a new plan...

I'm up in Kennesaw - and had 2" in the first 40 mins, now been falling for a couple of hours. It'll be interesting to see the amounts that are there in the morning.

Dont think there will be a lot moving tomorrow.

Daniel

We had about 5-6" at my place in Duluth too. Roads were a mess today. Glad I only ventured out on foot. I think the next few days will be dicey.

I also did something I've been wanting to try for a while. I setup the 7D to do a timelapse of the snow last night. I put the images together today & posted the video on YouTube (a first for me). You can see the short movie here (external link)if you'd like.

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Yes they are, ours never broke the bottom surface to the road so it's all freezing up like an ice rink tonight. We need sun to help evaporate it. I'm supposed to be in Savannah and Macon tomorrow but that's not going to happen.

Nicely done! I have the Canon TC 80N3 remote and kick myself for not doing the same, although I shot a short video. First video attempt and not very exciting but I felt like playing with it.

I've been reading the news online while in Taiwan - wow, what a mess we missed! I hope we can get back into ATL Thursday as planned. Our flight arrives at night, which has me worried about the drive home with everything freezing.

Doesn't happen too often so once it started to fall all the camera gear was in the car and off we went!

Hopefully by Thursday we'll have some sun and the water on the roads will evaporate. Only concern then will be from small patches of black ice where the snow has melted onto the roads during the day and refrozen at night. It's going to be in the teens at night until Friday. Hope you're having a good trip and safe travels home!

Yeah, Tim, you missed all the fun around here! Things are improving on the roads, but it's going refreeze hard tonight. All the water from the melting will be ice again tomorrow. I'm sure there will still be ice around on Thursday, especially at night, so as Doug said, be careful on the roads.

Doug, as of right now I'm still one of the few folks on the planet without a Facebook account, but I may succumb soon. I'll be sure to check out your video when & if I join. I tried to view it yesterday, but it required a login.

Nice shots, dinanm3atl! I've been out with my macro lens today. Hopefully some of those will be interesting shots too.
