Got mine copy last night, started to play around with it taking indoor pics of my dogs. I didn't have enough time to upload the pics yet, but just reviewing the pics on the camera, it seems like the sharpness was hit and miss. I will try to get some pictures up tonight when I get home so you guys can see if I have a good copy or not. Since I have a 550D, I just learned that I don't have the ability to MA, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for now that I don't have to send it for alignment.

Good look ... try to take a pic of a ruler or something. That's the easiest way to check if the focus hits or not ...

Do you mind taking a picture with yours, and then I will try to replicate and take the same picture and see if how it compares?

Also what are some of the settings I should use to target for this lens test?

go out and shoot normal things you would with this lens
make sure the lighting is good.

check THOSE results
if they're off
then test it with batteries/rulers and other crap.

I already deleted my testshots (because it looked like this: http://focustestchart.com/images/chart/image044.jpg (external link)) ... but you may try this: http://focustestchart.com/chart.htm (external link)

definitely got to go with crop:) Only thing - any way to give a little more space on the top of her beanie?

haha, yeah actually.. i cropped the top, too. you think it needs it?

EDIT:

it definitely looks better with space above the hat (others are on my flickr):
