I don't like this one.. the angle... the cluter on the table... it takes away from the beautiful bride and awesome stained glass window.

I actually agree with this. I'm not crazy about this either. One I was really on the fence about. This shot can work really well in a big old church with a high alter and a lot of steps. The traditional shot is the one I really like the best.

A few more candids. Some all available light and some softened gelled strobe so the subject better matches the color balance of the B/G.

I think that little girl is in awe of the photographer, future photog right there, that's really a cute picture of her peeping over. In both of her pics, it's like shes thinking, "what is he doing?", lol. I love it.

Thanks that one I didn't know if I wanted to leave it in color or change it to B&W but one that I liked.

I'm somewhat partial to B&W images but I liked both. I may have my cousins wedding to do in 2012 so I'm trying to look at everyone's images, I don't shoot people, so I'm just trying to learn by all these shots. I also like the idea of movement in the dancing and not just frozen.

I'm gonna say something here and its some very wise words. You seem to be fixated on catch lights. Well, did you know some of the greatest portraits taken by the greatest photographers like Arnold Newman, Marc Hauser, Irving Penn, and Cartier-Bresson lack those?

If I were you, I would worry more about quality of light and color of light issues and let some of that go catch light stuff go. One other thing is that a harsh non gelled strobe and an image where the ambient and strobe are not balanced sure look a lot more like someone took them with a P&S or a pop up flash than the ones that have been gelled, softened and balanced with the ambient.

So you really think that light isn't harsh, the background isn't yellow and to dark? You really don't see the over camera flash quality to this?

Catch lights aren't the be all, end all of photography. You'll drive yourself mad if you shoot as though they are.

Is anyone else reporting posts? This is getting WAY out of hand, and has turned into an immature catfight. There are differing opinions, and everyone has their own style. Stop trying to convince each other you are right. This is just getting annoying.

Yes, and I've seen a couple of threads today where he's gone off and had the nerve to post his own images in someone elses thread. Some people just have no class but on the bright side they don't stick around long.

Sorry to the OP for posting off topic.

Allen, great job on the wedding shots. I would be very happy with these.
