oh yeh a few months back i picked up a slightly used one, & a bunch of pristine Ls for about 1/2 retail - an old man in tauranga was selling up, bought all the new gears and couldnt carry them around all day so he dumped the lot, i was amazed at the deal but he said he didn't want more for it, just wanted to get rid of it to a good home. on-sold the spare 70-200 & bought the 50 with the proceeds, worked out great

hey tony yep all alive here too. been super busy leading up to christmas, had to keep some ppl waiting for their prints which i never like to do

love the 50L, it's not as sharp wide open as i'd hoped but at 1.6 its really nice, it almost lives on the 5Dii now.

also did some fireworks pics at new years, along with everyone else in auckland lol... put a few on my blog, got some ppl wanting to purchase some so that was nice. one of these days ill get that print of yours up on the wall lol

I need a new tripod and some ND filters.

Got hold of the new 100mm macro recently... very awesome lens...

Got Canon CPS membership sorted and approved too.. that should make things a bit easier!

I have a theory that cats don't die.
They are the only creature we know so arrogant, self confident and filled with such belief that they are the center of the universe, that they in fact transcend to higher more important level of existence.
The short time they spend with us is simply an indication of how good they are at it.

Anyone else have great skies last night? Took the first one from the cul-de-sac we live in...it was quite ordinary but I liked the tones in the sky... then went into the house and was met the second looking due south from our deck. Just two minutes apart but 90 degrees different views.
