Very cool. Love the contrast on the stark black background.

I like when people make the plates natural white like you did. I like how your FMIC is tucked back, looks OEM/sleeper status. I hate when people have it sticking way out in front and a loud BOV, all to just shout "I HAVE A TURBO!".

Speed and control > flashy "look at me" style

Nice shot! Interesting that it's shot with just 1/200 second shutterspeed.

Okay, I guess it's time I plunge in here.

Got the camera and kit lens a few weeks ago. Haven't been out in days, due to a bad cold, and when I was out before that, there really wasn't much to shoot, so my apologies in advance for what must be a huge yawn of a subject.

These are as shot, other than a conversion from RAW and a resize, and a slight crop on the first one. I must say, I am more and more impressed with this camera (and even the kit lens) daily. Now I can't wait until my 55-250mm IS arrives (later this week, or early next week).

Thank you so much.

I think it's our State Flower too. I guess I'm sort of jaded, because they're so common here.

Isn't it amazing to see subjects that are common to one area, vs. common subjects from some other part of our beautiful world? What we take for granted, others see as something so special, and vice versa.

What part of it is giving you trouble? Lighting, catching the shot at the right time, etc?

I am guessing the lighting. It looks dull and dark. The droplet looks a bit OOF at times.

I'm doing this on the kitchen sink. I have incandesecent ambient light. Using 18-55 and focusing the spot where the water drops first, iso about 1600 shutterspeed 200 f3.5. The external flash is in auto mode and is directed towards the water.

After reading some tips, i think its because I dont have a backdrop where i can aim my flash instead of aiming it directly onto the water. Idk, I'll keep trying

Thanks. Well, you need a tripod, a nice blank backdrop, some lighting, and a lot of trial and error with timing. I think I'll show the setup in the post mentioned below.

Thanks, I haven't seen that one, but wow there are a lot of great things and ideas in there. I'll have to get a picture of the setup later and post it in there.
