This isn't one that I put in my "best" category, but I always liked it.

Here is one of my favs. I call it "Who's Railroad is it?" because it is has units from 3 of US and Canada's 6 Class 1 railroads. It was also a chance we took to shot this. We herd this guy coming while we were setting up our shot for the UP2001. We took the chance and cought this guy outside Rochelle, IL.. We ended up missing the 2001 that day, but this shot was well worth it. Needless to say I cought the 2001 a few months later sitting in a yard a nice sunny summer day.

Taken a few years ago with my Olympus 550 (3mp). Will have some with my "real" camera as soon as the weather gets nice. :)

Another one with the crappy Olympus. Couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I'm posting both:

TomW, I really love the POV on your picture as well as the autumn look to it. How far off the tracks were you?

I was about 7 or 8 feet away from the rails. I almost always stay 5 feet or more away, unless I'm positive that its clear. Of course, on a curve, there is no "positive". I used the 70-200 telephoto zoom in that shot so it may appear that I'm closer than I actually am.

BTW, I like the scenario of the Amtrak shot. I don't quite miss my northern Ohio winters, but I do like to see snowy images on occasion. :)

River Adur - Shoreham - November 2005

Don't have any real favourites yet - but I like this one. 20D only one month old at the time so still gettiing used to it together with the Sigma 18-125.
As a result of this outing the Sigma was returned to dealer as it was extremely soft between 18-45mm. Replacement (direct from Sigma) a lot better.

John

I don't think I have anything decent compared to what's already here but I'll take a look...
