I took these with natural light only from a window and used Kenko extension tubes with a Sigma 18-200mm lens. Not the greatest lens for macro but I wanted to play around a bit with it.

I'm not super thrilled with these but not sure why.

Any comments and critique are more than welcome. Exif data should be intact.

Quite like how #1 came out but think the OOF flower in the foreground spoils it a bit.

I really like #2. Like LordV said, the OOF foreground in #1, and the OOF background flower in #3 are a little distracting. Just a tighter crop might help both of them.

I agree with archer about a tighter crop.

Beautiful lighting on #1 needs a tad more focus.

Thank you for the critique and comments.

I was considering focusing on the front flower on #1 and having the rest be OOF but it looked off to me. Maybe an attempt at focus stacking to bring in the front and middle would have worked better. I'm still new to macro and placing to focal plane properly.

I like the symmetry in #3 and having the background flower out of focus added depth to the image.

I wasn't about to go cutting flowers off my wifes' new plant so I had to work with what I had. ;)
