They have such a ridiculous prices on cameras and accessories that a 12% coupon won't give you any deal.

But they will price match online prices. You will still have to pay taxes but good whenever you want something now and don't want to wait to have it delivered.

Their coupons are not good for lenses and flashes anyway. The online prices are usually discounted and they won't consider that to match . If you add taxes you're still better to buy online. Worthless ...

Our store only matches local retailer's prices, the coupon is good for accessories(should include lenses and flash), it's usually cheaper going with Adorama or BH, but some people don't like to wait for shipping, or need a new refrigerator, those points eventually add up.

I can't remember the last time I had a coupon work at Best Buy! It always excludes everything along with any sale items which is just about everything. It may be a penny cheaper but its "on sale". I stopped shopping there years ago for anything but clearance deals.

you can get pretty good deals by negotiating open box items, especially tvs and big ticket stuff that are after-christmas returns! most people don't think a large retail change like BB will negotiate with the price, but they do (at least for open box and floor models).

Really, where can you purchase a Canon 5D Mark II body for $2,199 ($2499-12%) where it is an authorized US dealer??

Not all their camera deals are as good. However, I do not think you can beat $2200 for a 5d Mk II body

you're not paying taxes?
Let me do the math for you. I'll consider the taxes where I live which are only 6% might be higher in other places , and you'll see that there's no deal.
camera - $2499.00
tax -$162.50
total - $2,662.49
12% - 319.49
Total price - 2,342.99
quite a difference comparing with your 2200.
You were asking what autorised dealer have a better deal that that?
Here Newegg has today 10%off on digital cameras using this cupon EMCKJHK54. I'll compare lenses prices later on.

New Egg has a max discount of $150, charges tax, and does not stock the 5d body (only the kit w/ the 24-105).

$2343 is still cheaper than Adorama and B&H with out tax ($2499). In fact, I cannot find the body cheaper anywhere else that is an authorized US Canon dealer.

Either way your choice of the word "REDICULOUS" (post #2) is still wrong no matter how you do the math!!

I didn't notice that newegg doesn't have on stock, it was there all the time.

It's not "wrong" at all it was based on their base prices without this discount. 5d mark II is a special case because is listed with a "normal" price(one of the few items priced like that). take a look on anything else how is priced without coupons. Don't forget that their prices are like this all the time.
Best buy - 55-250 - $250(reduced- no coupons)
amazon $210
newegg $210

Best buy - 16-35 - $1699
amazon $1550
newegg $1399

Best buy - 70-200L 2.8 - $1449
amazon $1300
newegg $1290

even with coupons after taxes you'll still be more expensive.
So bottom line, their prices are RIDICULOUS.

Your post (post #2) said that the CAMERA prices were rediculous. Now you justify that with LENS prices.
Best Buy's lens selection is limited and overpriced- I agree 101%. They are definitely not the place to shop for lenses.

However, THEIR CAMERA PRICING is not rediculous- especially when they are the cheapest on one of the hottest camera (5D2). That was my point. Also, add in that you can order on-line, pick up with a few hours, and book 2200+ RewardZone points (woth about $30) makes Best Buy a viable choice for some bodies.

I am not attacking you personally. Please do not interpret my comments as such.

I am merely pointing out that anyone shopping for a 5D MK II should give this coupon some serious consideration. Your post might lead people to do othewise.

As I told you that's the only deal you might get since 5dmark II is one of the few items with "normal" price. When I was shopping in December for 5d mark II was backorder the entire month. I end up buying online.
If u want a canon camera, you can use that coupon on only 2 cameras. Mark II and 1ds markIII which is priced $1000 more then any store.
If you'd like a nikon you cannot use that coupon at all.
So bottom line my words were "They have such a ridiculous prices on cameras and accessories" just because they have that camera with a normal price, doesn't make cameras and accessories priced less ridiculous.

your math is wrong.

$2499.00 x 90% x 106% = $2384. you don't 10% off the taxed price.

but you're party right, compared to newegg's $150 off it's no deal there (although i don't see 5D2 body on newegg). however if you live in a state with no sales tax it's heaven.

5D3 and a few lens
