Last weekend I shot the home opener for Southern Utah University against the # 5 ranked defending national champions UCLA. When I arrived there was no parking at all, there was a massive line at the box office, I knew it would be full but just before the meet started I looked into the crowd and I coulnd't find a open seat! I had not seen that many people in the 5 years I attended the university! Near 5200 of the 5300 capacity! Anyways the girls ended up pulling of quite the win against the bruins! CC always welcome and thanks for looking!

Nice series, you made the best of what sounded like a bad start. Like this!

I've got my ISO at 3200 most times @ 1/160th and it usually ends up a little dark for me. I will have to try the 1/125th setting but I kinda remember the action being a little blurry! Yours looks great!

Great shots, Kyle. My only suggestion would be that #5 would benefit from the inclusion of some visual reference to the apparatus being used.

#6 is my favorite hands down. My sister used to compete so I have a real appreciation for what those girls can do and I think 6 shows a great example of that. Just amazing. Great timing too.

These are great. I shot my first NCAA gymnastics event today and my results were sub-par. I'll be using these photos as a guide for next weeks meet. I think I need to use my 16-35 and 50mm more because the 70-200 was awkward (its usually my most used lens).

Cheers!

I love the 50 and the 35 for most events but I use the 70-200 more on floor.

Thanks for the input.

My schools gym is tiny. All bleacher seating on a balcony with amax capacity of about 2000. I went in completely blind never watched gymnastics. The busy backgrounds and 3 schools doing events at the same time did not help. I've got some ideas now, so I'm looking forward to next week.

Wow, great photos, really like the fisheye effect, I'm assuming you used your 5DII and the 15mm 2.8 for that?
