Hey everyone,

Just wanted to get some critique with my video. What do you guys think.
Shot with 7D and did the edits in Sony Vegas. Please view in 720 and tell me if the quality is where it should be. Also, what do you think about the edits. I tried to stay within the flow of the music to match the video.

Prior to me editing the clips in Sony, I change the video format from Mov to AVI using MPEG Streamclip. Helps a great deal when I start edits in Sony. I guess what I want to know is if I'm loosing a lot of quality when I do this? Still new to all the video use with my 7D.

The vignette was a bit heavy for me, and be sure to secure rights to your music before posting to youtube, but otherwise it was good.

As long as you're keeping the quality slider in mpgs's export settings to "max" you'll be fine. Looks good to me. Though i'm surprised that Vegas can't handle the h.264 .mov files.

I found that by changing it to AVI first it's easier to manage in Vegas. If i try to edit just straight MOV files I start having problems with my memory.

Thanks for the suggestion.

How abut this one. Please watch in 720..

Nice video! Damn that kid got some skills for his age! Future prospect. Just a few questions...

Where did you get the music from?
What tripod head are you using?
Shutter speed?
ISO?
Aperture?

I agree the vignetting was a bit heavy but goes well with the audio and pace of the action.
I love how you slowed it down as he crossed over and broke that kids ankles! LOL! I said "OMG" out loud and replayed it like 3 times! haha. Good job overall! Keep it up...

Are you allowed to move around and shoot from other spots in the gym? I would have liked switching it up a bit... maybe sitting baseline on the side the kid is playing offense or defense, depending on what you want.

Thanks, I'm just glad he likes to be active. He enjoys playing and seems to have a desire for it. His goal is to make it on a high school team which is great because he's being realistic with his goals.

Yea, I can move around but I hate to be a distraction for the kids. I try to be as discrete as possible to not take away from the game.

But I see where your getting at. Different angles would provide some great action shots.

The reason they are asking about the music is that people here (and with good reason) are very serious about copyright protection.

It's illegal to use music that you don't either make yourself, purchase the license to, or get permission to use.

There's a ton of good royalty-free music.

Thank you. bw!

Oh, I thought he was asking the name of the song. So if I purchased the music from Itunes and use it for my own personal use I can't use it? I'm not trying to profit from the music by selling a video that it's on? The video is of personal use so I used the music I purchased. Is this a type of copyright infringement? I'm seriously wanting to know, thanks.
