If you like to strobe, the 1D classic is something to hold onto since you can use strobes with it at much higher sync speeds then you can other bodies because of the electronic shutter curtain on the CCD sensor. In the 1DMk2 they switched to a CMOS sensor and and a mechanical shutter since you can't use an electronic curtain on CMOS sensors eliminating that advantage.

do you know what the sync speed difference is off the top of your head?


ps if you wanna get nerdy you can always hack the HSS off a 580 or 430 + optical strobe...

Rich, great pelican shots! The colors feel more natural in the last shot you posted, this one seems a bit too saturated for my tastes.

i'm in..just bought 1d mark II with SC 100k..but in good condition..hope the shutter will be die after 200k maybe..
