Probably a 20D since it's the first XXD to accept EF-S mount lenses.

yes, but sometimes you gotta tell the truth. Look at the horrible photos you get the cheaper models. Just ain't worth it.

???

Look at the horrible photos you get out of a 1D series camera if you don't know what you're doing!!

Back to the OP's question lowest end Canon DSLR I've used is a 20D I'd have to problem using one again if I had to. Heck I got great images out of my S2IS & S5IS I LOVED those cameras too.

For some of my favorit lenses I prefer 24x36 mm sensors - becasue on smaller sensors the sharpness is no more that good. Furthermore I use mostly manual focus, and that is pretty good on the 5D classic. I would not like to work without this camera.

But I use my EOS 350D / Rebel XT and EOS 1000D / Rebel XS quite often. For macro, Infrared, documentation..
But without the 5D I would miss a big part of my hobby.

For wedding shooting I really would not want anything less now than full frame so a 5D classic for me.

Got to say though I use a image which has become the face of my business, it's on the front page of my website, advertising banners, cards etc and guess what it was taken on a 300D!! it did have a 70-200 f4is attached mind.

The camera is just a storage box, it's the gLass in front that makes the image...
