Welcome to the forum.
I have taken allot of nice photos on Smith Lake! even though I live near Guntersville Lake we take the boat to Smith Lake for the clean water.

Smith lake is a beautiful place, but difficult to fish.

Mostly curly maple (some call it tiger maple) with two black walnut accent strips. All of the maple came from one board. It is for sale.

It turned out really well! Don't think I've seen curly maple before.

Yes welcome Andrew!
I went to Guntersville State Park to shoot the Eagles (with my camera) they were all a little far for my 70-200 to be good sharp visible images but I did find this dock. I want to go back with my ND filter and about an hour later at sunset.

Hey everyone! My friend and I (hes also a PotN member) are wanting to set up a photo trip in Birmingham for like city night shots. We would also be up for going to somewhere like Oak Mountain or something within around an hour of Birmingham. Anyone interested? We are both students at BSC just so you know our location if your thinking of something outside Birmingham for the trip. -David

I haven't been on the forums in quite a while. I've kind of been away from shooting for a while, but have the urge to get back to shooting again. Does anyone know of any groups getting together on our next warm day in the area? I can go anywhere from Hoover to Decatur. I live about halfway between both areas.

I'm in the Huntsville area

Doesnt seem to be allot of people from Alabama here yet.

I also saw you say you were about 30 minutes south of Huntsville in this thread... I'm in Decatur (for a few more weeks, maybe-then we're moving to Florida)
