^ Nice shots! Reminds me of action figures I use to see on Wizard magazine.

This has to be the best thread in all of POTN.

Not sure If I understand what your asking but the backside just has another countertop at a lower level, barstool on top and cup of water on top of that. theres no light stands, havent invested in them yet, lol

I was just asking what the light stands (chairs and stools) were standing on. I didn't know if it was counters or open drawers back there. In my mind it was drawers haha! Id say you don't need any real stands youve got it handled!what you lack in equipment you make up in creativity Its great to see! That is an area I feel I lack in sometimes.

This is a great thread; I have learnt so much from seeing how the shots are set up.

Thanks to all that have posted, it is much appreciated.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

LOL ya u kno i used to collect wizard magazines too back in the day.. until the internet just became the primary source of info now.. but i was really shocked at once i started using this DIY lightbox.. how easy it was to get these "professional" looking shots.. my green hulk is my favorite as it looks the most "out of a professional toy company picture release" like

Do you have the exif data for this shot and remember the settings you used for the flashes? I really enjoy learning new techniques for my external flash. Thanks!

Um, exif:

Camera : Canon 40D
Lens : 16-35 L @ 16 mm
Shutter Speed : 1/100
Aperture : f4
ISO: 100

I think these are the settings I used for the flashes

Left Flash :
Manual mode @ 1/8 power
Shoot-thru umbrella

Right Flash :
Manual mode @ 1/4 power
Shoot-thru umbrella

Cheers :)

Oh, I was digging around, and this was when I was pretty interested in macro, but didn't want to buy a dedicated macro lens.

Setup:

IMAGE: http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj149/emantest/MacroRig.jpg

Camera : Canon 40D
Lens : 70-200 F4 IS
Thing on lens : Raynox DCR-250 Macro Adapter

That setup got me pretty good results:
